A small business can be better than a big business because of agility and adaptability due to their size and scale.
During the late seventies and eighties of the last century, Libya witnessed a radical change in economic and production activities. The country adopted a political and economic system of governance that was run by the state. Hence all privately owned organizations were nationalized. For more than a decade Emar Kortoba Construction Company as well as the entire privately owned sector was frozen and inactive for more than 10 years.
However, due to changes made by the government later in an effort to alleviate the restriction imposed on the private sector in the late nineties, Emar Kortoba Company revitalized its activity once again and commenced to take part in the construction field with special emphasis in the Oil Industry sector.
Emar Kortoba Construction Company is a privately owned mid-size company established in the early seventies. Its responsibilities and duties are well defined in the official documents of the company. It executed numerous projects in Libya in both the public sector and the Oil sector.

Technically, the Oil sector is much more organized than the public sector. Their staff is much more knowledgeable and adheres to strict code of conduct and high standards, and at the same time they expect the contractor to abide by the code of practice, HSE principles, quality control and quality assurance, and international specifications and standards when executing the construction work. It was a challenge to Emar Kortoba Co. at the beginning but we quickly adapted to this discipline and executed the projects with ease and competence.
